:: Larry Hagman: "I'm glad I went solar"

+ 19.09.2010 + Powering your home or business with solar energy is easy and can save you money, as well as help fight climate change and increase energy independence.

Larry Hagman, the famous oil baron J.R. Ewing from the TV Show „Dallas", owns the largest private solar power plant in America with a total output capacity of around 100 kWp.

After a toppled tree had caused a power failure in the USA for several days Hagman decided in favor of this independent form of power generation.

Since 2003 his farm is being supplied with solar power — an investment that has paid off handsomely.

For more than 10 years Hagman has been a solar activist working in the organization Solar Electric Light Fund (SELF) for the power supply to developing countries.

Larry Hagmann in a TV-spot from SolarWorld A.G.: „I’m glad I went solar – the better Alternative. We’ve got to find another way of producing energy.”
