A BRIGHTSOURCE ENERGY CONCENTRATING SOLAR POWER PROJECT<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Huanghe Qinghai Delingha Solar Thermal Power Project will use BrightSource’s proven concentrating solar technology to produce clean, reliable renewable electricity. <\/p>\n

Located in the Qinghai province in northwest China, the project is planned for six CSP tower plants at 135 MW each. The first phase will include two plants with up to 3.5 hours of thermal energy storage, and will produce enough electricity for more than 452,000 residences.<\/p>\n

The U.S.-China Renewable Energy Partnership (USCREP) is one of seven U.S.-China clean energy initiatives announced by President Obama in 2009. Under the partnership, the two countries are developing roadmaps for wide-spread renewable energy deployment in both countries. <\/p>\n

The Delingha project – China’s first commercial scale CSP project that also incorporates storage – is representative of the types of projects intended to be developed as a result of these initiatives.<\/p>\n

PROJECT OVERVIEW<\/strong><\/p>\n

The first phase will feature two 135 MW solar thermal plants using mirrors to focus the power of the sun on solar receivers atop power towers. Molten salt storage will provide up to 3.5 hours of additional thermal energy generating capability.<\/p>\n
