Emirates Insolaire’s coloured solar panels take skyscrapers’ facades to new heights
Unique technology takes centre stage at Smart Skyscrapers Summit in Dubai
Emirates Insolaire LLC, a pioneer in the development and application of new solar technologies & a joint venture of Dubai Investments PJSC [DI] and SwissINSO Holding Inc., is highlighting the uniqueness of its coloured solar panel KromatixTM technology – the first-of-its-kind in the world – to enhance the design appeal and aesthetics of skyscrapers’ façades in the region.
Emirates Insolaire’s coloured and sustainable solar panels, breakthrough photovoltaic modules and solar thermal collectors can be adapted to any façade and roof in any skyscrapers and offer cost-effective and sustainable customization, and these are being showcased at 2nd Annual Smart Skyscrapers Summit 2015, currently under way at the Sofitel The Palm Resort and Spa, Dubai.
The highly-sustainable Emirates Insolaire coloured solar panels not only cut down on greenhouse gas emissions but also considerably reduce utility bills. The company expects sales in excess of 50,000 square metres for coloured solar panels in 2015. Each coloured solar panel can generate above 150 watts electric power per square meter on rooftops, or above 110 watts per square meter on façades.
At the summit, Rafic Hanbali, Managing Partner of Emirates Insolaire, is speaking on the need for integrating aesthetic, coloured solar panels in buildings, as also Building Integrated Photovoltaic [BIPV] and Building Integrated Solar Thermal [BIST] applications using Emirates Insolaire glass panels.
Globally, the photovoltaic market has grown 40% year-on-year and the number of installations foreseen for 2015 is 160 GW – approximately 800 million square meters of glass. The share of Building Integrated Photovoltaic for rooftops and facades, one of the specialisations of Emirates Insolaire, is witnessing one of the fastest growth rates.
