Wirsol Energy Ltd. Connects 29MW Solar Park

Wirsol Energy Ltd (“WIRSOL”), the company founded by and subsidiary of WIRCON GmbH which focuses on both on-shore wind markets and solar markets, announced that it has connected the 29MW Elms Farm solar park.

This follows on from the previously announced sale of two solar parks to Bluefield Solar Income Fund Ltd (“BSIF”), totaling 42MW which have now both been connected in order to qualify for 1.4ROC’s.

Mark Hogan, Managing Director of Wirsol commented, “We are clearly pleased to have successfully connected both sites ready for qualification under 1.4ROC’s.  The build progress has been efficient and the teams have worked well to hit the necessary deadlines.  We are lucky to have had DNOC as our ICP for both sites under the leadership of Lee Mason.  In parallel we have a good relationship with the two landowners whose support and ongoing participation will be an important factor.  We now look forward to acquiring and building new projects as we extend our relationship with Bluefield.”

Peter Vest, Managing Director of Wircon added, “We are delighted to have achieved the connection of both solar parks, now we look forward to continued success with more projects in the UK as we build our business and solar park footprint.”

Anthony Brindle, Investment Associate at Bluefield Partners, the Investment Advisor to BSIF commented, “The successful connection of these two solar parks is a great milestone for Bluefield, taking BSIF’s total installed capacity to 204 MWp.  Following the positive experience with these projects, Wirsol and Bluefield are now actively discussing extending the relationship to work on further projects together, building upon the now established partnership between the two teams.”
